Nawaz ‘charts economic revival blueprint’

Chairs meeting with economic experts; takes decisions regarding tax reforms, energy crisis, and electricity prices

With the general elections looming on the horizon, PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif on Monday chaired crucial consultative session with his economic experts to chart a course aimed at boosting growth rates and addressing the economic hurdles confronting the nation.

During the meeting, crucial decisions were made, including tax reforms, resolution of the energy crisis, and reductions in electricity and gas prices.

Sources said that the economic recovery plan was finalised to uplift the country's economy, providing relief to the public from the clutches of inflation.

Furthermore, a comprehensive economic package was formulated, laying the groundwork for the advancement of agriculture, industry, and the IT sector.

Simultaneously, the session focused on initiatives to provide employment annually and outlined policies to empower the youth with essential skills.

The economic package includes special incentives for agriculture, featuring substantial considerations for the integration of solar energy into agricultural practices.

Notably, significant provisions were made for the supply of electricity to domestic consumers.

Large-scale projects were prioritised, spanning education, health, and infrastructure, reflecting a consensus on advancing overall economic activities with a focus on accelerating national development.

The economic projects proposed during this session align closely with the recommendations provided by experts across various fields.

Furthermore, the session saw the establishment of fundamental principles for reducing interest rates and introducing reforms for large industries and the export sector.
