Public, private schools to reopen tomorrow
All public and private schools in the non-mountainous districts of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa will reopen on Monday (tomorrow) after prolonged winter vacations.
The severe cold wave which gripped K-P and Punjab from the start of January still persists, forcing most people stay indoors and consume green, black tea, and coffee to keep themselves warm.
On Jan 7, the provincial government announced extending the winter vacations for private and public schools in non-mountainous districts of the province by another week taking into account the severe cold wave and fog in the region.

Similarly, the timings of the middle, high, and higher secondary schools have also been changed for the winters.
Official sources told The Express Tribune that the temperature dropped dramatically due to snowfall in the mountainous areas of the province and a thick fog had also engulfed the region.
“Doctors have declared the severe cold dangerous for children forcing the government to extend the vacations,” an official of the education department said.
The government had initially announced vacations in schools from Dec 23 to 31.
