Pak-China agree to set up media university: Firdous Ashiq Awan
Both sides discussed the proposed MoU for establishing the Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Institute for Media Sciences.

Pakistan and China here on Monday agreed in principle for setting up a media university in Islamabad. The consensus in this regard was reached when the Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan held a detailed discussion with the Chinese minister for education.
Both sides discussed the proposed MoU for establishing the Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Institute for Media Sciences.
The Information Minister was informed that China is ready to offer maximum number of scholarships to the students of mass communications and media professionals for Ph D courses.
Dr Awan said that during the meeting with her Chinese counterpart Wang Chen in Urumqi, they decided to have a uniform media policy for the benefit of the regional countries.
She said that setting up a media university will be beneficial for Pakistan and will increase job opportunities for Pakistani youth.
The Chinese Education Minister, while appreciating the efforts of Dr Awan for the establishment of a media university, said that his government has always encouraged Pakistan in various fields and after consultations with the concerned departments, the project would be implemented.
