Initiative to promote local brands launched

Naeem says that initiative will decrease import bills, help in expanding exports, and stabilize local economy

Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi Ameer Engineer, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman, has announced that his party in collaboration with the Pakistan Business Forum and Alkhidmat are going to host ‘Mera Brand Pakistan’ initiative on January 20 and 21, to promote local brands.

Addressing a presser held at the JI Karachi headquarters, he said that the initiative will decrease the import bill, help in expanding the country’s exports and stabilising the local economy. Naeem added that the proceedings from the event will
be donated for the affected people of Palestine.

Speaking of general elections, he said that some undemocratic parties are trying their level best to delay the polls or at least
create confusion or hopelessness in this regard. He reiterated his demand for Returning Officers (RO) and District Returning
Officers (DRO) from the judiciary. He pointed out that the Pakistan People Party supporters have been appointed as ROs and DROs in the Sindh province.

On the occasion, he said that the JI would continue it’s support for Gaza against genocide of Palestinians by the Zionist regime. In this regard, he said, the Gaza Solidarity Million March will be taken out on January 14 in Karachi. Naeem also lambasted the caretaker government for inking an accord with the K-Electric
