PESHAWAR:

In a concerted effort to elevate literacy rates in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, especially in the newly merged districts, the provincial government has given approval to the ‘Ilm Tolo Da Para’ literacy campaign during a meeting of the Provincial Task Force on Merged Districts chaired by Caretaker Chief Minister Justice (Retd) Syed Arshad Hussain Shah on Friday.

The campaign aims to tackle the challenge of low literacy rates, particularly in the newly merged districts, with the overarching goal of bringing education to all.

The ‘Ilm Tolo Da Para’ campaign, translated as ‘Seek Education for Every Home,’ underscores education as a key driver of social and economic development.

Its initial launch in merged districts, where educational challenges are particularly acute, will be followed by an extension to settled districts facing similar literacy issues.

This phased strategy reflects a targeted effort to address specific needs and challenges in different regions.

One of the core components of the campaign is a comprehensive plan designed to admit out-of-school children from merged areas into formal educational institutions.

The plan specifically targets children aged five to sixteen, ensuring a focused effort on a crucial age group where educational interventions can have a lasting impact.
