She wanted someone better: Humayun Saeed recalls his first heartbreak
Renowned actor Humayun Saeed recently sat down for a candid interview with Imran Ashraf on a local chat show and, in the process, revealed his first heartbreak.
The actor, who is known for starring in some of the biggest Pakistani films and most recently, in Netflix’s The Crown as Diana’s love interest, Dr. Hasnat Khan, dished out details about his first relationship ever.
When asked to details his first heartbreak, the Punjab Nahi Jaungi star recollected in a poetic fashion, “I would teach her how to drive and she would often run my car into something. Her parents really liked me. They’d say, ‘Ae munda changa lagda ae,’ (he’s a nice lad), it was that kind of scene.”
“And then, what happened?” inquired Imran, rather perplexed. “I think it happens, she probably wanted someone else in her life at the time, someone better than me,” shared Humayun, disappointed. “Did you cry?” Imran asked. “Oh, a lot…I was young. When she told me she is someone else’s now, I cried a lot with my friend and he cried with me,” revealed the actor.
Humayun went on to note that when you’re young, that’s how it is. “Your friends are also just as emotionally invested in your relationships as you are. But when you grow up and go to your friend to cry, they just tell you to shut up because they told you so!” he laughed.
When asked how long the relationship lasted, Humayun confessed, “Not too long, it lasted a year.” It appears all heartbreakers start out by getting their hearts broken.
Nevertheless, Humayun, who is currently 52, has been happily married to Samina Humayun Saeed for over two decades now. Samina is a producer, best known for helming shows like Akbari Asghari, Sadqay Tumhare, Mann Mayal and Alif under her banner Next Level Entertainment.
