Schools launch health camps

Students to get medical check-up to ensure their wellbeing

ISLAMABAD:

Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health is initiating a comprehensive health camp for students within the institutions working under the ambit of the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) to assess their health condition and ensure the wellbeing of the students.

According to official sources, the FDE has directed all the directors of colleges and schools and the rural areas education officers to arrange health camps in educational institutions.

The FDE has requested all heads of institutions to compile the necessary data of their students and share it with the health camp teams by January 5, when they will be arriving at the institutions to implement the project.

Meanwhile, FDE, Director Academics, Riffat Jabeen said that “The aim of this activity is to ensure the health and wellbeing of students.” She said that the camps will start functioning in the next two weeks.

The FDE has directed the heads of educational institutions to encourage students to actively participate in the health camp without compromising routine academic activities.

The camp will appoint doctors from all major public and private hospitals of the federal capital for students’ medical check-up. Under this Programme, the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training has already distributed hygiene kits among students of government educational institutions within the ICT jurisdiction to ensure their good health.

Doctors have also been engaged in guiding students on health and hygiene issues.
