KARACHI:

City Mayor Murtaza Wahab has said that the PPP's 10-point election agenda recently presented by the party's chairman, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, aims to alleviate hunger, poverty, unemployment, and curb lawlessness for 250 million people of Pakistan.

The agenda was unveiled by Bilawal at a public rally organised by the PPP to renew allegiance to the philosophy of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto on December 27 in Garhi Khuda Baksh,

While addressing a press conference at Frere Hall on Saturday, Wahab stressed that the country belongs to the 99%, not just the elite. He highlighted the PPP's 50-year advocacy for people-powered governance, emphasising the party's charismatic leadership.

He underscored that people, now immune to propaganda, will choose the PPP for its service and development-oriented agenda. He criticised other parties for focusing on leaders' images rather than offering solutions to public issues.

In contrast, he noted that the PPP not only addresses current challenges but also outlines future strategies. Wahab highlighted the PPP's credibility, citing past fulfilled promises. Discussing the PPP's 10-point manifesto, Wahab outlined plans to double salaries in five years, build three million houses, provide 300 units of free electricity to farmers, and focus on alternative energy sources like wind and solar power. He also highlighted the PPP's achievements in the areas of income support, skill development, and transparent subsidy systems.

The mayor acknowledged the need for tax reforms, stressing the importance of improving the tax collection system for effective public service.
