In an inclusive move, approval has been granted to recruit trans persons in the Rawalpindi police.
In this regard, applications have been invited for recruitment of new “Police Station Assistant” for 189 positions until January 13. The age limit for these recruitments has been set between 18 to 25 years.
This inclusive initiative spans all police ranges in Punjab, including the Rawalpindi range. Applicants, regardless of gender, are eligible to apply if they meet the age criteria, possess at least an intermediate education, and have proficiency in computers.

Sources said the decision to induct trans persons into the police force underscores a commitment to diversity and equal opportunities.
Initially labelled as temporary, these recruitments in basic pay scale 7 also offer the possibility of becoming permanent in the future.
Rawalpindi alone is set to welcome 37 new Police Station Assistants as part of the initiative.
