Suspected killer of ex, three others killed in ‘encounter’
A man suspected of murdering his former wife and three other people was killed allegedly by the firing of his accomplices during a police encounter, while two men escaping after stealing a motorcycle and cash were arrested after one of them was injured during an exchange of fire in the metropolis on Thursday.
The police shifted the body for post-mortem and launched a hunt for the accomplices of the deceased suspect. The suspected robbers injured in a police encounter were admitted to a hospital.
According to Baghbanpura SHO Syed Waqar Bukhari, a resident of the area, Farooq, had informed the helpline 15 that two motorcyclists had were resorting to firing outside his home.
Baghbanpura police inspected the crime scene and signaled three people on two motorcycles to stop on suspicion after blocking a road for checking.

However, the men opened indiscriminate fire at the police. During an ensuing exchange of fire, one of the attackers was killed by shots fired by his accomplices who escaped after the incident.
The deceased was identified as Salman.
Cantt Division SP Owais Shafiq told the media that Salman had murdered four people, including his ex-wife, outside a wedding hall in Baghbanpura recently. The victims were visiting the city from Faisalabad.
The SHO said investigations and search for the men who had escaped was under way.
Meanwhile, a man allegedly escaping after committing a robbery was injured and arrested along with an accomplice following an encounter in Harbanspura.
