Action plan devised for security on New Year

High-level meeting reviews security situation with particular focus on street crime

In a high-level security meeting has reviewed the prevailing law and order situation in the metropolitan city. The meeting presided over by Major General Azhar Waqas, Director General Rangers, was attended by AIG Karachi Khadim Hussain Rand, DIG-CTD, and DIGs from various branches, and senior officers from intelligence agencies.

The comprehensive review of Karachi's security situation included a specific focus on curbing street crime and other criminal activities, particularly in anticipation of new year's celebrations.

Directives were issued to the law enforcement agencies regarding the existing law and order conditions in Karachi. These directives accentuated the need to intensify joint operations by the Rangers and the police against repeat offenders and to enhance security measures at the city's entry and exit points.

The meeting devised a joint action plan by rangers, police, and other law enforcement agencies to ensure the security of new year's celebrations. Special attention was given to improving the efficacy of snap-checking procedures at patrolling and interprovincial checkpoints.

In compliance with government directives, the meeting resolved to uphold the prohibition on brandishing weapons and aerial firing. Severe penalties were announced for those found in violation of these regulations.
