Caretaker Chief Minister Syed Arshad Hussain Shah hosted members of the Christian community at the Chief Minister House to celebrate Christmas with a cake-cutting ceremony on Monday.
The ceremony was attended by a delegation of the Christian community from Peshawar led by Bishop Humphray Sarfaraz Peter. On the occasion, the chief minister, along with the Christian delegates, cut a Christmas cake.
The chief minister extended Christmas greetings to the Christian community of the country. He lauded the role of the Christian community in national development. He said that the entire nation held this role of Christian community in very high esteem.

“The wellbeing and protection of the rights of minority communities living in the province are among the top priorities of the government,” the chief minister told the ceremony. He assured that steps would be taken on a priority basis for resolving the issues of all minorities, including the Christians.
On the occasion, the chief minister directed the authorities concerned for taking necessary steps to immediately resolve the urgent nature of issues confronting the Christian community. He also ordered special security arrangements for in the residential areas of the minority communities.
“The government is planning to launch an employment programme for the youth of the province under which 500,000 youth will be imparted training in modern skills to enable them to get jobs abroad, he said.
