ISLAMABAD: President Arif Alvi and interim Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar urged unity on the occasion of Quaid-e-Azam’s 147th birth anniversary for the continuity of democracy and peaceful coexistence.
“Quaid-e-Azam was the great benefactor of the nation whose tireless efforts led to the creation of a separate homeland for the Muslims of the sub-continent,” President Alvi said in a message and added that Jinnah advocated for the rights of the Muslim community.
Stressing upon hope and justice for the promotion of Islamic ideals, moral values and brotherhood, Alvi said: “The ongoing situation in the country beckons to follow the vision of the father of the nation and his guiding principles”.

Meanwhile, in a statement, the caretaker PM maintained that Quaid’s principles of ‘unity, faith and discipline’ should be the guiding principles for the nation.
He further added that Jinnah’s disposition remains a beacon of guidance for the people of the country due to his unparalleled character and extraordinary governance qualities.

“Resolve and the undeterred will of the Quaid had infused the Muslims with firm determination and courage to face all the ordeals in the continuation of their struggle and in the way of achievement of their great goal,” Kakar stated.

The nation is celebrating the 147th birth anniversary of the founder of the nation, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, on Monday with ardour and enthusiasm.
The day began with gun salutes and visits to mausoleums in provinces and the federal capital.
To celebrate the day, special events were arranged by governmental, political, social as well as non-governmental entities and forums.
Rich tributes were paid by participants to Jinnah’s exemplary vision and diligent efforts that led to the creation of Pakistan.
A 21-gun salute was performed in Karachi and prayers were offered at Quaid's mausoleum.
Dr Arif Alvi, Governor Sindh Kamran Tessori, caretaker Chief Minister Justice (retd) Maqbool Baqar and other provincial heads paid a visit to the mausoleum and offered prayers.

A change of guard ceremony was held in which a contingent of the Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) Kakul assumed the ceremonial guard duty.
