Free rural ambulance service launched

Providing free pick and drop facility to vulnerable groups in remote villages.

LAHORE:

The Punjab government has provided 500 ambulances and launched a toll-free helpline 1034 for immediately transporting pregnant women, infants and differently-abled people to basic health units (BHUs) in the rural areas free of charge.

One vehicle of the Rural Ambulance Service has been deputed three BHUs for providing free pick and drop facility to the vulnerable groups in remote villages.

This was announced by Caretaker Minister Dr Jamal Nasir at a seminar organised by ‘Save the Children’ on Thursday.
