Reema visits Maulana Tariq Jamil to offer condolences on son Asim’s death
Pakistani veteran actor Reema paid a visit to renowned Islamic scholar Maulana Tariq Jamil to express her condolences over the sudden death of his son, Asim Jamil, on October 29. Asim reportedly died of suicide in the town of Tulamba in Punjab.
The Bulandi actor took to Instagram to share a picture of her meeting with Tariq, penning a heartfelt note in the post’s caption. “I met venerable Maulana Tariq Jamil sahib to offer my condolences on the sad demise of his beloved son,” wrote Reema. “The lesson radiated by Maulana Sahib and his family was to bow before Almighty God under all circumstances and to agree to His will.”
The celebrity furthered on, commending Tariq and his family for embodying what they preach. Reema stated, “I saw a complete balance between the words and deeds of Maulana sahib and his family. He not only imparts lessons through words but [also] practically demonstrates allegiance to Islam.”
Concluding the note with prayers, Reema added, “May he live longer than time and keep spreading lessons to people at large. May God grant patience to him and his family to bear [this] excruciating loss, ameen.”
Shortly after the tragic incident in October, Tariq took to the social media platform X to confirm his son’s “accidental death”. The cleric wrote, “Today in Tulamba, my son, Asim Jamil, passed away. His accidental death has turned the atmosphere melancholic.” The Islamic scholar furthered, “We request you all to remember us in your prayers at this time of grief. May Allah grant my son a high rank in heaven.”
Dr Asif Imam of the Tulamba Hospital confirmed the death. According to sources, Asim was exercising at his gym located in the farmhouse while a guard was standing alert for his security. Asim took the pistol from the guard and shot himself in the chest, they added.
Multan Regional Police Officer Capt (retd) Muhammad Sohail Chaudhry said that according to the CCTV footage, “Maulana Tariq Jamil’s son committed suicide as he snatched the pistol from his guard during the middle of a workout and shot himself in the chest.” RPO Sohail also disclosed that Asim was suffering from mental illness and had been using medication to address that for a long time.
