Fans spot latest obsession, 'Animal' star Tripti Dimri in 'Mom' with Sajal Aly

Rising star has become the internet's latest obsession after her portrayal of Zoya

An exciting revelation has emerged in the movie world, creating a lot of buzz on social media. A circulating Instagram clip has brought to attention the fact that Tripti Dimri, the rising star from the movie Animal, has previously appeared alongside popular Pakistani actor Sajal Aly in Mom, the 2017 Indian crime thriller. In the narrative, Sajal portrays Arya Sabarwal, while Tripti takes on the role of Swati, Arya's classmate.

Tripti has been creating a buzz for her recent role as Zoya in Animal, where she starred alongside Ranbir Kapoor. Her performance in the film has received widespread praise, with critics, including Monika Rawal Kukreja from Hindustan Times, commending her outstanding acting skills. After Qala, Tripti's role in Animal has marked a significant, far greater moment in her career, earning her widespread recognition and acclaim.

Directed by Ravi Udyawa and written by Girish Kohli, Mom, the film that brought Sajal and Tripti together, revolves around Devki Sabarwal (played by Sridevi), seeking revenge after her stepdaughter Arya faces a distressing assault. The devoted biology teacher attempts to bridge the emotional gap with her stepdaughter Arya. Despite Devki's persistent efforts, Arya remains distant, grieving for her late biological mother.

The storyline takes a tragic turn when Arya faces abduction, assault, and abandonment after rejecting advances at a Valentine's Day party. Despite identifying her attackers, conflicting evidence and Arya's alcohol consumption that night complicates the pursuit of justice, further alienating her from Devki. Disappointed with the legal system, Devki seeks revenge. With the help of Detective DK (Nawazuddin Siddiqui), she takes matters into her own hands, systematically targeting Arya's assailants. As Devki's actions gain attention, Arya perceives a silent avenger fighting for justice.

However, suspicions about Devki rise, prompting scrutiny from Detective Mathew Francis (Akshaye Khanna). Tensions escalate when one of the attackers, Jagan (Abhimanyu Singh), discovers Devki's identity, seeking revenge. In a gripping showdown, Devki faces Jagan to protect Arya, torn between justice and her family's safety. Arya's heartfelt acknowledgement of Devki as "Mom" leads to a poignant resolution, culminating in a tearful embrace that signifies their reconciliation.
