Work remained suspended for several hours at Karachi Fish Harbour (KFH) on Sunday due to a strike in response to the murder of a loader at the hands of a fish cutter.
The strike was called off following the negotiations between the fishermen organisation representatives and the protestors.
Reportedly, the incident had occurred in the early hours of Sunday when Saddam, a labourer busy in loading and unloading fish from boats was killed during a confrontation with a fish cutter named Noor-ul-Amin.
In response to the incident, workers at the KFH staged a protest and subsequently halted the work on Sunday morning at 6am.

The strike endured for several hours until a resolution was reached through negotiations with the representative organisation of fishermen.
All Fishermen's Association President, Nowsherwan reported that an agreement had been established between the association and the KFH administration.
According to the terms, the entry of fish cutters into the red zone and export zone of Fish Harbour was prohibited. Henceforth, fisher-cutters are not allowed to occupy these two areas.
Following the agreement, the workers called off their strike, and normal operations at harbour were restored.
