Naughty Dog cancels The Last of Us multiplayer game
Naughty Dog cancelled The Last of Us multiplayer game to focus on single-player narrative games.
The developer had been delaying the launch of the multiplayer game for a while as it was working on The Last of Us II side by side. On Thursday, the company officially announced the cancellation of the project.
The studio has stated that the multiplayer game was in its pre-production stage. However, they emphasized that in order to launch and provide ongoing support for "The Last of Us Online," they would need to allocate all of their studio resources towards creating post-launch content for an extended period. This would significantly impede the development of future single-player games.
