Nine robberies in a day in Sialkot

One injured; five motorcycles and a car taken away.

SIALKOT:
Five motorcycles and a car were snatched and valuables worth thousands of rupees taken away in nine incidents of robbery in Sialkot on Saturday and Sunday.

A man was injured by armed robbers on offering resistance. Airport police said Sakhawat Ali was made to stop his car on Airport Road by three unidentified armed men. Ali was shot and injured on resisting the robbery. The robbers snatched Rs25,000 from him and fled from the scene. Police said Ali was taken to Sialkot Hospital where he was in a critical condition according to the doctors who were treating him. Sheikh Naeem’s car worth around Rs1.6 million was stolen from outside his house on Hakim Khadim Ali Road in Sialkot.

Muhammad Fiaz, a trader, was made to surrender his motorcycle, Rs300,000 cash and a mobile phone by three unidentified robbers in Olakh Awan-Muradpur.


Muhammad Arif and his wife were deprived of Rs16,000 cash, gold jewellery worth Rs50,000 and a mobile phone in Phalora village, Pasrur tehsil; Tassawar Hussain of his motorcycle (STL-3350) and a mobile phone at gunpoint near Lala Hindi-Qila Kalarwala village; Shaukat Ali of his motorcycle in front of Gulshan-i-Iqbal, Sialkot and Ansar Ali of  motorcycle (STL-6484) near Factory Area Sialkot city.

Three unidentified armed men stopped a Ranikey village resident at gun point near a canal bridge and took away Rs250,000 cash, a mobile phone as well as his motorcycle. Pasrur Saddar police said they have registered a case and were raiding the area to arrest the culprits.

Pesticides dealer Malik Shabbir was robbed of goods worth more than Rs200,000 in a burglary at his shop in Begowala, Sambrial tehsil.
