Youth talent showcased at Gwadar festival

Minister kicks off festival, underscoring importance of merit-based initiatives

Provincial Minister of Sports and Culture, Nawabzada Mir Jamal Khan Raisani, highlighted ongoing efforts to enhance the sports sector and engage youth in positive activities during the Southern Balochistan Sports Youth and Cultural Festival 2023’s opening ceremony at Ghous Bakhsh Football Ground in Gwadar.

Raisani emphasized the role of sports in eliminating negative activities and providing opportunities for healthy entertainment. He expressed confidence in the abundance of talent in Balochistan, asserting the ministry’s commitment to showcasing this talent nationally and globally. Under his leadership, the sports department has been proactive, releasing a comprehensive calendar to promote sports across all regions of Balochistan.

The minister kicked off the festival, underscoring the importance of merit-based initiatives. In attendance were key figures such as Director General Sports, Dura Baloch, Assistant Director Activities, Muhammad Asif Longo, Assistant Director Makran Division Abdul Ghaffar Yousuf, and others.

Meanwhile, former minister for home and tribal affairs and tribal elder of the Kasi tribe, Malik Inayatullah Khan Kasi, demonstrated philanthropy by donating essential medical equipment to Sandeman Provincial Hospital, Quetta. His contribution included five wheelchairs, five stretchers, and ten blood pressure apparatuses. Additionally, he took the initiative to functionalize a previously dysfunctional water supply tube well at the hospital.

Dr Arbab Kamran Kasi, Managing Director of the Trauma Centre at Sandeman Provincial Hospital, expressed gratitude for Malik Inayatullah Kasi’s generous donation and efforts to address vital infrastructure issues at the hospital. The community leaders, including Mir Farid Raisani, Mir Salam Jan Raisani, Nowroz Jamaldini, and GDA Sports Officer Akhtar Fuji, also participated in supporting these positive initiatives for the betterment of the region.
