PIND DADAN KHAN:

Protests persist in Pind Dadan Khan against the delayed construction of the Lillah-Jhelum dual carriageway and insufficient fund allocations for the vital project.

The protests were initiated on the Pind Dadan Khan Working Committee’s call. On the weekend, a protest demonstration, organised by religious parties witnessed the participation of people from various schools of thought.

According to sources, the ongoing series of protests against the delay in the project is intensifying in the sub-division. Following the schedule of the Pind Dadan Khan Working Committee, a rally was organised on Saturday, starting from Darul Uloom Muhammadiyah Rizvia.

Led by Mufti Bashir Ahmad Karam, the Convener of the working committee, the rally included a substantial number of participants from political, social, and business communities.

Reaching Kashmir Chowk, the rally transformed into a sit-in, causing traffic disruptions on all three sides and leading to long queues of vehicles. Addressing the government, speakers at the event warned that if road construction does not commence by December 15, the working committee will mobilise the people of Pind Dadan Khan tehsil for a comprehensive protest. This protest will involve the complete closure of transport businesses, schools, and other institutions.
