Mahira Khan's 'heart bleeds and breaks' for Palestine as she prays for 'mercy'
Renowned Pakistani superstar Mahira Khan recently took to social media to share her profound grief and express solidarity with the people of Palestine amid the ongoing brutalities in the region. In a heartfelt post on X, Khan bared her emotions, acknowledging the challenges of life's routine while emphasising the importance of acknowledging and empathizing with the pain suffered by the people of Palestine.
In her statement, Khan conveyed a poignant message: "Nothing feels good. And I understand life goes on...It has to. We resume work, we worry about our child’s exams, or mother’s health, or our own...But through it all...The heart bleeds and breaks. May Allah have mercy on Palestine. On their hearts... their children... their lives."

The star's words echo the sentiments of millions around the world who have been deeply affected by the constant Israeli barbarity unfolding in Palestine. As violence and unrest persist in the region, Khan's message serves as a reminder of the harsh realities faced by the people of Palestine, urging compassion and mercy amid the challenging circumstances they endure.
Previously, Khan found herself at the centre of a controversy when many on X, previously Twitter, accused her of giving a "diplomatic" statement amid Israel's offensive against Gaza. The star, who has been incessantly tweeting for Palestine, showed grace in her response, making her stance clear on the matter.
In a post on the site formerly known as Twitter, Khan extended her support to those suffering, expressing her deep concern for those who have lost their loved ones, homes, and who endure pain every single second. She also showed empathy for those who might be misinformed about the suffering "around them.
A troll even insinuated that Khan's "silence" was due to concerns about her future Hollywood contracts. To this, she responded with a concise yet powerful message: "Uhhh, I call it loud and clear. Sit down. Use your time to pray for Palestine." Her unapologetic reply demonstrated her commitment to raising her voice for the suffering in Gaza.
Furthermore, Khan retweeted a statement by Fatima Bhutto, echoing her sentiments about the tragic situation in Gaza. Bhutto had shared a heart-wrenching video of a baby girl covered in blood, struggling to breathe after being rescued from the rubble of a bombed house. Alongside, she had written, “The images of these babies will haunt me forever. These are the victims of Israel's genocidal campaign against Gaza and the victims of Europe, UK, and the US's deranged support for the ethnic cleansing of the Palestinians.”
