Four missing children rescued

Centre has successfully reunited over 5,000 people to date, says Authority

LAHORE:

Safe City reunited four missing children with their parents in different areas of Punjab on Friday. The missing children were found in Kot Lakhpat, Green Town, Bahawalpur and Bahawalnagar.

Five-year-old Noor Fatima, six-year-old Kanwal Batol, seven-year-old Sufyan and two-and-a-half-year-old Komal were reunited through the emergency helpline, while their whereabouts were identified through missing person’s reports.

The victims’ parents reported the children missing on Emergency 15 and the Lost and Found Center at Safe City matched the calls with filed reports, confirming the identities of the children.

A spokesperson for the Punjab Safe Cities Authority highlighted that the Safe City Lost and Found Center has successfully reunited over 5,000 people to date. In cases of disappearances, the public is encouraged to immediately report people missing on Emergency 15 for prompt assistance.

Meanwhile, the Mera Pyara App of Lahore Traffic Police reunited a 76-year-old man with his family. The victim, Younis, is mentally and visually challenged and he went missing six months ago.

A Traffic Police team spotted the victim and performed interviews and follow up sessions with him to know the details of his family and their whereabouts. They also conducted bio-metric verification of the victim.
