RCB expedites property tax recovery

RCB`s efforts have been expedited to achieve target in remaining seven months of current financial year.

The Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) has made a recovery of over Rs752.5 million, against the property tax recovery target of Rs1.40 billion for the fiscal year of 2023-24.

According to sources in the RCB, efforts have been expedited to achieve the target in the remaining seven months of the current financial year.

Under the supervision of Revenue Superintendent of Revenue Sector 1 to 5, Waheed Qamar, and Revenue Superintendent of Sector 6 to 10, Inayatullah Khan Marwat, property tax recovery during the ongoing campaign has shown significant growth, they said.

The recovery on November 30, 2023, stands at over Rs752.5 million, reflecting an increase of Rs115 million compared to the same period in the previous financial year, which was Rs638.1 million.

The fixed target for the current financial year is Rs1.40 billion, with a deadline set for June 30, 2024.

The recovery in the first five months of the current financial year has already surpassed 54 per cent of the tax recovery target.

Cantonment Executive Officer Ali Irfan Rizvi has instructed property tax superintendents to prioritise arrear recovery alongside current tax collection. A zero-tolerance policy against defaulters is emphasised, with immediate legal actions to be taken against those in violation.
