I didn’t like the script: Iman Ali reveals why she left Khalilur Rehman Qamar’s film

Actor-model also revealed that she refused a famous serial due to its summer shooting schedule

Pakistani model-turned-actor Iman Ali recently appeared as a guest on a talk show with host Vasay Chaudhry where she delved into her select preference for scripts. Responding to an audience member’s query to disclose a project she wished she had done, Iman named the 2016 hit drama Dillagi.

Iman reflected, “I wish I had done that script…starring Humayun Saeed and Mehwish Hayat, Dillagi.” The actor shared that she chose not to take on the project due to its summer shooting schedule, stating, “I really liked Dillagi’s script but the project was scheduled for shoot summer.”

Elaborating on her seasonal inclinations, Iman humorously remarked that she favours working during the fall and spring seasons, finding these periods conducive to doing justice to her characters. “If I say yes but I am unable to do a good job, then what’s the point?” she pointed out.

Iman also clarified that she comes across good scripts but ultimately her preferences are very select. She said, “I do get approached with good scripts which is why I remember Dillagi. There was also another one…by this director with whom I don’t wish to work.”

The director in question was named by Chaudhry as Khalilur Rehman Qamar. In the same interview, Iman disclosed that merely three days before the commencement of shooting for a film written by Qamar, she opted out of the project voluntarily, without any dismissal.

“Nadeem did not influence my decision. I left the film three days before the shooting [was scheduled],” the model stated. “I didn’t like the script. I fully realised this while we were doing readings and I suggested some changes but they refused to change even a word without Khalilur Rehman Qamar’s approval.”

While the celeb did not explicitly mention the film's name, she clarified that even director Nadeem Baig did not object to her decision. She cited her disagreement with the film's storyline as the primary reason for her refusal. Furthermore, Iman asserted her resolve to avoid working in any play or film authored by Qamar.

In another casual segment on the show, Iman was presented with a scenario of traveling on the luxurious Titanic with two VIP travel passes and asked about her preferred companion to which the supermodel opted for Hamza Ali Abbasi over Fawad Khan. “He’s my friend,” she explained.
