Investigation reveal Abdullah was in his shop when stepfather doused him with petrol, and ignited fire before fleeing

A man was burnt to death by his stepfather in Kharadar area on Tuesday.

The accused poured petrol on his stepson and set him on fire inside an oil shop in Kharadar. During the course of treatment at the hospital, the victim passed away while accusing his stepfather in his dying statement.

The victim, 24-year-old Abdullah Sultan, was rushed to the Burns Ward at Civil Hospital Karachi but he succumbed to his injuries.

Initial investigations revealed that Abdullah was in his shop when his stepfather, Akbar doused him with petrol, and ignited the fire before fleeing. It has emerged that a domestic dispute existed between the deceased, Abdullah, who was from Lyari, and the absconding stepfather, Akbar, a resident of Orangi Town. Reportedly, Abdullah had accused Akbar of the incident before succumbing to his injuries. Consequently, police intend to charge Akbar under Section 302 for homicide. Efforts are underway to apprehend Akbar.
