Pakistan Single Window (PSW), in an attempt towards fostering women’s participation in international trade, has launched Khadijah – a Women Entrepreneurship Programme in Lahore. This initiative is an offshoot of the programme’s official launch in Karachi on December 15, 2022, aiming to increase female participation in international trade through the PSW platform.
According to a press statement released on Monday, the programme, Khadijah, aligns with the government of Pakistan’s commitment to gender equality and economic empowerment for women. It has been designed to equip and empower women entrepreneurs, enabling them to play a more significant role in the dynamic landscape of cross-border trade. Its goal is to provide women with the necessary tools, knowledge, and skills to thrive in international trade, contributing to the economic growth of Pakistan.
Speakers from the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), Revenue Mobilisation Investment and Trade (ReMIT), Investment Promotion Activity (IPA-USAID), Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA), Trade Foresight, and representatives from FedEx and Habib Bank delivered training sessions organised around access to information, access to finance, and e-commerce procedures involving banks, couriers, and customs.
