Five killed, 11 injured as truck rams into van
Four people lost their lives in a road accident between a truck and a passenger vans on the Indus Highway in Karampur area of Kashmore-Kandhkot district on Monday morning.
The Karampur police informed that 11 persons were also injured in the incident.
Kashmore-Kandhkot district Deputy Commissioner Ameer Fazal Owaisi said that the accident, apparently, occurred due to thick fog on the highway and reckless driving of the truck driver
The rescue teams rushed to the site and pulled the bodies and the injured from the van's wreckage and shifted the injured and bodies to Civil Hospital Kandhkot.
Initially one death and 14 injured were reported but more passengers succumbed to injuries when they were being shifted to the hospitals in Sukkur and Larkana from the Civil Hospital Kandhkot. Ali Akbar Augahi, Abdul Razzak Naseerani, Zaheer Bajkani and Mehdi Raza Bhatti are among the deceased.
Caretaker Chief Minister Sindh Justice (Retd) Maqbool Baqar expressed his grief and sorrow over a road accident near Karampur.
Baqar said that he was deeply saddened by the death of seven people in the road accident. He directed the Commissioner to provide immediate medical aid to the injured persons.
