PML-N to move court against delimitations
The leaders of Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) Sindh have said that the party rejects the recent delimitations in Sindh and will go to the court against it.
They said that they do not trust the provincial election commissioner and the Chief Election Commissioner should take notice of the distrust of political parties against Sindh election commissioner.
These views were expressed by PML-N Sindh President Bashir Memon during a press conference at the Karachi Press Club on Monday. Other PML-N leaders including Khyel Das Kohistani, Nihal Hashmi, Qadir Bakhsh Kalmati and Salman Khan were also present at the conferenc.
Bashir Memon alleged that wrong delimitations have been done in Sindh. Naushahro Feroze was also broken, four talukas were merged to form one constituency, which shows that the constituency was created on demand, this has been done in Larkana as well.
He said that we express no confidence in the Provincial Election Commissioner, whoever has done this should be punished. We will go to the courts to get justice.
He urged caretaker Chief Minister Maqbool Baqar to take notice of our plea.
Bashir Memon has said, "There is no charge against me, Saeed Ghani is a worker, just tell me who I have threatened."
Qadir Bakhsh Kalmati said that the population in Malir has not been considered in the delimitations, one UC is added to another UC. He said that All the requested programmes of the Peoples Party (PPP) have been fulfilled. The performance of PPP is like a rotten cake, the coming days are for change.
Nihal Hashmi has said that pre-poll rigging has started. He alleged that PPP has started a series of pre-poll rigging with the connivance of government employees; we will go to the court in a few days.
GDA voices concerns
The Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) has warned the caretaker government and the Election Commission that the entire system across the country would be in chaos if our concerns are not taken seriously before the election, and all the responsibility of the situation will be on the caretaker government and the Election Commission of Pakistan.
These views were expressed by GDA Secretary General Dr. Safdar Ali Abbasi at a pres conference at the Karachi Press Club.
Other GDA leaders including Irfanullah Marwat, Hasnain Mirza, Arshad Shar baloch, Akhtar Ali Rajpar and others were also present at the conference.
They said that it is not possible to conduct transparent elections without removing the objections of GDA on delimitations. They alleged that provincial Election Commissioner and Nisar Durrani are working as workers of the PPP and there is no possiblity of transparent elections in Sindh while they are in office.
GDA leaders said that Pir Sahib Pagara has been informed about the prevailing situation and whatever directives Pir Sahib will give, will be followed.
GDA alleged that PPP has deliberately made arbitrary delimitations in GDA constituencies. The aim of which is to keep the opponents away from the electoral process, but GDA is not afraid of these tactics and will fight the situation.
