Six water projects okayed for Pindi
In the latest provincial budget spanning four months, the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) has received approval to initiate six new water supply schemes in Rawalpindi.
These projects include the construction of 11 tube wells, six water filtration plants, and two underground water tanks, each with a capacity of two million gallons of water.
The total cost of these projects is estimated at Rs432.72 million.

The proposed schemes, initially presented by WASA in May 2023, have now gained official approval and are part of the District Development Programme. A deadline of February 28, 2024, has been set for their completion.
Funds for these initiatives have been released with WASA authorities instructed to promptly provide PC1 of the projects to Commissioner Liaquat Chatta.
Additionally, new water filtration plants, costing Rs87.4 million, will be established in Union Council 40 and its surrounding areas.
