Dengue ebbs at turn of month
The province has observed a decline in dengue over the past three days. Less new cases are being reported in both the provincial metropolis and the surrounding districts.
As many as 77 new cases were reported on Saturday, with the latest Health Department data revealing a total of 14,335 confirmed cases across the province this year. Lahore takes the lead in this unfortunate count with a staggering 6,541 cases, followed closely by Rawalpindi with 2,631, Gujranwala with 1,522, Multan with 1,369 and Faisalabad with 847 cases.
During the past 24 hours, Lahore reported an additional 47 new dengue cases, Rawalpindi with 5, Gujranwala with 10, Multan with 4, Faisalabad with 5 and Okara with 2 new cases. Meanwhile, Narowal, Sargodha, Khanewal and Chakwal each reported one case within 24 hours. Currently, 101 patients are undergoing treatment in various hospitals across Punjab, with 55 of them in Lahore district hospitals.

This is a decrease from figures reported on Friday, where 87 new cases were confirmed across Punjab, while Lahore reported 44 new cases, Rawalpindi 2, Gujranwala 20, Multan 5 and Faisalabad 13. Additionally, Sheikhupura, Sahiwal, and Jhang each reported one case within the same period.
Meanwhile, 118 new cases were reported across Punjab on Thursday, with Lahore reporting an additional 75 new cases, Rawalpindi with five, Gujranwala with 13, Multan with six, Faisalabad with 11, Sheikhupura with three, Okara with two new cases. Meanwhile, Sialkot, Khanewal and Rahimyar Khan each reported one case of dengue within 24 hours.
