Two netted over abduction, murder charges

Court sends murder suspects on remand

Police arrested the two suspects who escaped after abducting and killing a mobile phone dealer on Friday.

The suspects were remanded from the court after being arrested. Lal Muhammad, a resident of Hasan Abdal, filed an FIR stating that he and his father were engaged in the mobile phone business at Jallo Stop. On August 5, his father went to his shop as usual, but when he reached the shop later, he discovered that the shop was not opened. Despite making repeated phone call on his father's mobile number, there was no answer.

A citizen Muhammad Imran informed Lal Muhammad about a body in a nearby plot. Upon investigation, Lal Muhammad discovered his father's body with injuries on the head and face.

The police registered a murder case.

DPO Dr Sardar Ghiyas Gul Khan formed a team, led by DSP Hasan Abdal Malik Iftikhar Ahmed, SHO Saddar Hasan Abdal Police Station Gulfaraz Ahmed, Investigation Officer Sub-Inspector Zulfikar Ahmed, and other police officers to look into this blind murder. Utilising modern scientific methods and professional skills, the police traced and arrested the two murderers, identified as Arsalan Khan from Mardan and Kumail Khan from Nowshera.

During the investigation, it was revealed that the killers had abducted the victim with the intention of robbery. They snatched Rs200,000 from the victim, killed him, and disposed of his body in water.

Subsequently, the police recovered the stolen amount and the murder weapon, an iron rod, from the arrested perpetrators. Further investigation is ongoing after obtaining remand from the court.
