Cops face the music for negligence

Officials get suspended from service for one year

The station house officers (SHOs) of seven police stations have been found guilty of negligence and delaying the registration of robbery and theft cases. The officials have been suspended from service for one year and the RPO delivered a warning to other officers.

RPO Dr Abid Khan suspended police officials found guilty of negligence, while taking departmental action against police officers who did not register robbery cases in time. SHO Factory Area Sub-Inspector Shoaib Ahmed, SHO Sumanabad Rizwan Shoqat, SHO City Judanwala Muhammad Yusuf, SHO Satyanwala Sub-Inspector Ali Akbar SHO Kharrianwala Inspector Muhammad Ayub Sahi, SHO Razaabad Sub-Inspector Basit Nazir and SHO Sub-Inspector Qaiser Mukhtar have been suspended for one year for failing to follow the timeline for registration of cases. The RPO has directed to ensure registration of cases within the prescribed timeline.

On this occasion, the RPO ordered the strict implementation of the timeline of registering cases and warned that departmental action will be taken against officers who do not file a case within 24 hours.
