HYDERABAD:

The prices of vegetables have once again gone out of control in Hyderabad. Some vegetables are sold almost three times higher than the official rates fixed by the administration.

The price of wheat has also gone up due to the non-release of the quota. Therefore, there is a chance that the price of flour may also continue an upward trend.

As per details, the inflation monster in Hyderabad is beginning to spiral out of control once again. Vegetable prices in Hyderabad are starting to rise after remaining stable for a few days, which has caused high concern among the residents.

According to reports, the cost of local garlic has jumped to Rs450 per kg following an exorbitant increase of Rs300, while Chinese garlic, which was formerly sold for Rs320 per kg, is now being sold at a price of Rs600 per kg. Gourd, which was sold at Rs60 per kg, has increased to Rs120 per kg. The price of okra per kg went up from Rs120 to Rs240. Similarly, the price of Chinese okra increased from Rs70 to Rs160 per kg.

Similarly, the price of coriander has recorded to increase of Rs200 per kg.

On the other hand, a quota of 20,000 sacks of wheat has been allocated for flour mills in Hyderabad district from November 15 to November 30.

However, the District Food Controller of Hyderabad has not sent challans to the flour mills.

It is said that the District Food Controller must receive a report from the Deputy Director of Food detailing the allocation of the district's government wheat quota, including the amount of quota that should be distributed per stone upon which the challan is issued by the District Food Controller.

However, the Flour Mill Owners Association's sources claim that formal wheat challans have not yet been given since the Deputy Director of Food has not yet delivered his report.

On Tuesday, in the open market, the price of a 100kg bag of wheat increased by another Rs100, after which the new price of a bag of wheat reached Rs1,100. Presently, wheat flour is sold for Rs150/kg.
