Mystery shrouds child’s burn injuries

Minor brought to hospital by a person who is not his relative

CHAK JHUMRA:

An 11-year-old boy, Ghulam Abbas, was brought to the Allied Hospital with burn injuries, sources at the hospital said.

Hospital sources said that the boy had allegedly told them that he happened to be going past “a factory that manufactured firecrackers” and picked up some stuff and dropped it in his sack. Later his sack caught fire, and the fire spread to his clothes, inflicting him with the burn injuries.

Hospital sources also said that the minor was brought to the hospital by a person who had not been his relative. After being discharged from the hospital, the stranger took the boy with him.

When the SHO of Saddar Police Station, Rai Aftab Waseem, was contacted for details, he expressed his ignorance about any such incident.

He said that neither had there been any such factory in his area nor did he have any information about the child’s injuries.

Meanwhile, fire broke out due to a short circuit in a house in 7-GB on Sargodha Road in the jurisdiction of the Nishatabad Police Station. The fire burnt household items to ashes.

There were no reports about anyone having sustained injuries during the incident.
