It is not only Israel that is committing crimes against humanity, but also the so-called civilised Western governments and the Middle Eastern regimes that are silent spectators. It is not an issue of realpolitik that states are choosing one side over the other. Rather, it is an issue of life and death for around two million Palestinians that are under the relentless Israeli air and ground military campaign. For 45 days whatever force that the Jewish state has used on Gazans under the excuse of obliterating Hamas has come as a balance-sheet of death and destruction of innocent dwellers in the besieged enclave. It is disgusting to even imagine that hospitals, schools and shelter camps are being bombarded, and that with the audacity of coming up with pauses in surgical strikes. This is genocide and everyone in the corridors of power are responsible and liable for it.
It is a foregone conclusion that the Zionist state is not listening to any reason from anyone. It is bent upon exterminating millions of people in Gaza, and has plans to further the war zone up to the West Bank. In doing so it enjoys the support of the United States, which is staking its own legitimacy and cherished principles of democracy and human rights for the sake of appeasing a lobby that funds its presidential election campaigns, and has across the board Jewish representation in the respective administrations of White House. This is Israelisation of American sovereignty, and is a shame to say the least.
The question is: how long will this carnage continue? The World Health Organization has described Gaza’s largest hospital Al-Shifa as a “death zone”, and it is unbelievable to imagine that those on ventilators and under the knife stay put under open skies. All this is so because Israel has given an ultimatum to the unarmed Gazans to get lost, and there is no rescue nor any refuge for them at hand. This plight is an existential threat to millions of people for the simple crime that they are Palestinians! Time to stop this madness and implement a ceasefire now.
