Former PPP minister promises to address utility issues for businesses

KARACHI, PAKISTAN:

Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, former Minister of Sindh for Local Government, Housing, and Town Planning, highlighted the crucial need for economic development as the primary focus of the upcoming government to revive businesses. Speaking at the inauguration of the Federal B Area Association of Trade and Industry (FBATI) headquarters, Shah underscored the importance of a comprehensive plan for economic stability and prosperity.

Shah, as the chief guest, outlined the Pakistan Peoples’ Party’s (PPP) commitment to economic sustainability and self-sufficiency. He stressed the significance of a plan that involves all stakeholders and supports businesses without relying solely on external funding. Karachi, described as the backbone of the national economy, holds a key role in strengthening the country’s financial landscape through increased exports and revenues.

The PPP leader assured continued cooperation with the business community, addressing utility issues such as electricity, gas, and water supply to meet the demands of businesses. He expressed the party’s commitment to developing Karachi’s infrastructure for the benefit of the masses.

Reminiscing about past initiatives, Shah commended the allocation of funds by the previous provincial government to industrial zones, facilitating infrastructure development and benefiting businessmen.

FBATI President Syed Raza Hussain echoed the importance of supporting Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs) for economic development, acknowledging the challenges they face in the current economic scenario. He urged both federal and provincial governments to focus on empowering businessmen, encouraging the establishment of special economic and safe industrial zones.
