PESHAWAR:

A gem, jewellery and mineral show will be held in March next year in Peshawar. A press statement issued by the All Pakistan Commercial Exporters Association says that buyers from at least 150 countries are expected to attend the show. The caretaker of the association, Haji Mamoor Khan, said that Namak Mandi in Peshawar is the world’s largest market of semi-precious unpolished stones but, unfortunately, there were a lot of problems for the traders there.

He said that there was no proper parking lot where visitors could park their vehicles and peacefully go for shopping and, despite their repeated attempts, the authorities had not paid heed to the matter. Mamoor Khan also claimed that no efforts had been made for the beautification of the market in order to make it attractive for buyers and the general public.
