Woman among three arrested on complaint of victim’s brother

LAHORE:

Kahna police have arrested two youths and a woman in a case of rape of a mentally challenged girl, resulting in pregnancy.

The case was registered on the complaint of the 21-year-old victim’s brother from the Isa Nagar locality.

The police said they had arrested three of the suspects, including the woman, and handed them over to the relevant cell.

As per the complaint, the mentally challenged girl was allegedly sexually assaulted by two young men of Kahna, who had taken her to a house with the assistance of the woman.

The complainant stated that the victim was lured to the house of the woman named Kajal in Isa Nagar, where the suspect’s brother-in-law Ashfaq and his co-accused raped her.

The victim’s condition deteriorated three days ago and she was taken for a medical check-up, after which doctors revealed that she was pregnant. Kahna Police Station SHO Afzal Dogar said the woman nominated in the case had been taken into custody two days ago.

After gaining information regarding the case during her interrogation, the police arrested the prime suspect Ashfaq and his accomplice Azhar. The arrested suspects had been handed over to the Gender Crime Cell.
