DIJKOT:

The killers of a seven-year-old girl, who was murdered after being raped in the Dijkot area a month ago, remain at large. Police officers have started searching each house and camp in the town, while their presence has reduced the crime rate in the area.

According to police sources, a seven-year-old girl was raped and killed after being kidnapped by unknown suspects one month ago, while she was playing outside her house in Dijkot. Her body was dumped in the fields.

After the serious incident came to light, Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab, Mohsin Naqvi, IG Punjab Dr Usman Anwar, Chief Secretary Punjab and senior police officers went to the house of the murdered girl and expressed their sympathy to her family and assured them to arrest the accused soon. However, a month has passed and Dijkot remain unable to trace the girl’s killers.

Regional Police Officer (RPO) Dr Abid Khan and City Police Officer (CPO) Muhammad Ali Zia formed teams who have been camping in 269 RB for the past week. Although the killers remain at large, police activity has led to a reported reduction in crime.
