Seven brick kilns were sealed across the province over pollution and failing to adopt eco-friendly zig-zag technology.
In Sargodha, four brick kilns were sealed while three kiln owners were fined for causing pollution during the ongoing crackdown against brick kilns on Wednesday. An anti-smog team led by Assistant Director (AD) Meghaara Kotmomin and Assistant Director (AD) environment inspected 15 brick kilns in the tehsil. Meanwhile in Sialkot, three brick kilns were sealed for causing smog and their owners were booked and fined Rs500,000.
Under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Shah Mir Iqbal, DO Environment Nazim Ayaz and his team inspected kilns in Mandrian-wala Colar and Bihari Colony. During the inspection, cases were registered against the owners for not adopting zig-zag technology.
