LAHORE:

Gulberg and Naseerabad police registered two first information reports (FIRs) against motorcyclists for failing to install safety rods. In Gulberg, the FIR was lodged against Hassan Abbas on the complaint of ASI Muhammad Amjad, while Naseerabad police registered the case against Hamza Jameel on the complaint of SI Khalid Mahmood Javed.

The cases were registered under Section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) for violation of official orders, the police said. Officials said the use of safety rods had been made compulsory to prevent fatal injuries caused by stray kite strings, particularly chemical and metal coated, during the Basant season.
