Islamabad retains all three National Assembly seats

RAWALPINDI:

After fresh delimitations, the composition of provincial and national assembly seats in the Rawalpindi division has largely remained unchanged with a few exceptions.

However, the number of eligible voters has significantly increased due to population growth.

In the Islamabad district, all three National Assembly seats have been retained. With the division of the Rawalpindi district, the number of National Assembly seats has decreased from 7 to 6, while the provincial assembly seats decreased from 15 to 13. The new district of Murree will have one National Assembly seat and two provincial assembly seats.

In Attock, there will be 2 national and 5 provincial assembly seats. Chakwal will have 2 national and 4 provincial assembly seats.

The total number of voters for three National Assembly seats in Islamabad will be over 1 million with an increase of more than 0.2 million votes compared to the 2018 election. Similarly, in the newly-formed district of Murree, 290,931 voters will cast their votes.

In Rawalpindi district, there will be a total of 3,550,429 votes for six National Assembly seats and thirteen provincial assembly seats, with 1,834,317 male votes and 1,716,112 female votes.

In Attock, a total of 1,334,104 voters will cast their votes for two National Assembly and five provincial assembly seats. Similarly, the district of Chakwal will have 767,482 votes for two National Assembly seats and four provincial assembly seats, with 388,582 male votes and 378,900 female votes. In the district of Jhelum, there will be 1,042,256 votes for two National Assembly seats and three provincial assembly seats, with 537,019 male votes and 505,237 female votes.

As a result of the creation of new constituencies, the numbering of all assembly seats in the Rawalpindi division has changed. For instance, the new NA-57 will be referred to as NA-51. NA-59 has become NA-53. NA-60 is now designated as NA-54. NA-61 has transitioned to NA-55.
