LANDI KOTAL:

Jamat-e-Islami (JI) Khyber on Thursday staged a protest demonstration against the mishandling of Afghan refugees in the Landi Kotal holding center. The protesters demanded provision of facilities to children, women and the elderly and alleged that they were being kept under the open sky in the freezing winter nights without inviting any attention from the quarters concerned.

“They are exposed to scorching sun during the day without food or water and endure cold nights without shelter,” they explained. Around 5,650 illegal Afghans  living  in  different  parts  of  the country  have been shifted to Landi Kotal  holding  center  in  Khyber  tribal  district  of  Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
