KARACHI:

Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman addressing a mammoth rally on Shahrah-e-Quaideen said that his party and other allied groups stand with the Palestinians.

“Right to freedom is a basic human right for which we fully support the actions of the Palestinians and Hamas,” Maulana said addressing the Toofan Al-Aqsa March and Sindh Aman Conference, a 12-day protest event organized by the JUI-F Sindh Chapter.

The demonstration condemned Israeli aggression in Palestine and unrest and exploitation in Sindh.“We have delivered a message of peace through the Al Aqsa March. We want peace in Pakistan, peace in Palestine and peace in the whole world,” Fazl said. He said the Palestinians have called, and we have responded.

We will hold such gatherings throughout the country, and global powers should immediately play their role in resolving the issue of Palestine. He said that JUI-F has also fought a war with ‘Zionist agent’ and is ready to face the proxies of the Western imperialist powers in the upcoming elections.

Fazl warned that unlike 2018, they would not allow “theft of mandate.” Gaza leader Dr. Naji Zaheer spoke via video link, while Senator Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haidari, GDA leader Dr. Safdar Abbasi, MQM leader Syed Mustafa Kamal, Allama Rashid Mahmood Soomro, Rauf Siddiqui, Maulana Saleh Al-Hadeed, Maulana Abdul Qayyum Halijvi, Aslam Ghori, Maulana Sami Swati, and others were present.

Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, in his video message, stated that Maulana Fazlur Rehman is presenting the position of the Palestinians. The mothers and sisters of Palestine are looking towards you.

The Palestinian people are suffering the worst oppression. The women and children of Palestine, along with scholars, are in the field of war. “The entire Muslim Ummah is a witness that we are fighting a long war,” he said in an emotionally charged speech.

Haniyeh said they want an end to the bombing on Gaza, particularly targeting the hospitals, food and medicine supplies. “I address the entire Muslim Ummah. This war is not just for Palestine; it’s for the entire Ummah. Today, we are here, but tomorrow it could be someone else under attack.” MQM Pakistan’s leader Syed Mustafa Kamal said most of the Western countries were concerned about the conflict this time because the Israelis were also dying.

For 75 years, Muslim blood has been shed in Israel and Palestine, Mustafa Kamal lamented, urging the world to decide whether it is with the right or wrong. Kamal said if you want to free Palestine, you have to fix your house first, he said, adding that those who cannot stand against their oppressing rulers cannot be expected to liberate Palestine.
