Easier Saudi visa policy sought for IT industry
In a bid to strengthen ties in the ever-growing field of Information Technology, Pakistan has appealed to Saudi Arabia to streamline travel and visa procedures for Pakistani IT companies. Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Pakistan, Nawaf bin Said Al-Malki, met with Caretaker Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunication, Dr Umar Saif, on Thursday, where discussions revolved around mutual interests and advancements in IT and Telecommunication.
During the meeting, the spotlight was on Saudi Arabia’s role in simplifying visa processes for Pakistani IT professionals and business individuals seeking opportunities in the Kingdom. Both parties concurred on the necessity to foster greater cooperation in the IT and telecom sector, recognising Saudi Arabia as an alluring market for Pakistani IT firms.
Saif conveyed Pakistan’s eagerness to bolster its relationship with Saudi Arabia in the IT & Telecom sector and emphasised the importance of facilitating travel and visas for Pakistani IT companies operating in the Kingdom.
Saif also underscored the considerable potential among Pakistan’s IT and Telecom professionals and the conducive investment environment within the country, encouraging Saudi tech companies to explore opportunities in Pakistan.
Ambassador Nawaf bin Said Al-Malki affirmed Saudi Arabia's commitment to supporting Pakistan in the field of IT and Telecom, assuring full cooperation and an expedited visa process for Pakistani IT enterprises.
The meeting, attended by senior officials from the ministry, marks a significant step toward reinforcing collaboration in IT and Telecommunication between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, promising a brighter future for both nations in this tech-driven realm.
