YouTube is expanding its efforts for a global crackdown on adblockers on its platform.

YouTube wants users to allow ads on the platform and opt for a premium tier subscription for an ad-free experience.

Users around the world are seeing an error which says "Ad blockers violate YouTube's Terms of Service". It further says, “Video playback is blocked unless YouTube is allowlisted or the ad blocker is disabled.”

Previously, YouTube would still let users view the video despite showing a warning related to adblockers. However, this time around, there is no other option but to either allow YouTube ads or buy a premium model.

YouTube started showing this warning back in June to selected users as an experiment. However, it is now expanding on a global level. According to YouTube, watching ads on its platform allows YouTube to be used by billions worldwide.
