Cop shot, injured in Rawalpindi

A police constable was wounded by gunfire when armed suspects shot at a police team from their vehicle in the jurisdiction of Dhamiyal police station on Monday.
According to a spokesperson for the police, the injured officer received prompt medical attention, and subsequently a manhunt for the suspects was launched by the police. Rawalpindi CPO Khalid Hamdani paid a visit to the medical facility to meet and inquire after the injured constable.
The incident occurred as the police team patrolled Girja Road and attempted to halt a suspicious vehicle for inspection.
Instead of complying with the orders, the occupants of the car opened fire at the police team, injuring Constable Shahid Qamar.
Senior police officials arrived at the scene, forming teams to capture the suspects.
