Caretaker govt seeks list of officials facing inquiries

HYDERABAD:

The Sindh caretaker government has instructed the Sindh Local Government Department (SLGD) to compile a list of officers involved in corruption cases or who have entered into plea bargains.

Sindh local government, housing and town planning department, research officer, has also requested for the input from all Town Municipal Officers (TMO), Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (HMC), and Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA).

Moreover, letters have been issued to the SLGD regional director, additional director, and deputy directors, outlining the requirement that all officers facing corruption charges or those who have voluntarily entered into plea bargains should be included in the list.

The letter emphasises, at the direction of the caretaker minister for local government, it is imperative to expedite the provision of this list to the office of the local government minister.

Attached to the letter is a proforma, which specifies that the name of the department, details of cases with the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), anti-corruption authorities, courts, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), and details of any plea bargains should be included.
