Citizens flock to avian exhibition

More than 250 birds of five species were presented in the Mega Bird Show

An exhibition of colourful birds was organized by the Pakistan Aviculturists Guild in the gymnasium of University of Karachi.

More than 250 birds of five species were presented in the Mega Bird Show, including parakeets, lovebirds, doves, finches, owls and other exotic birds.

The Mega Birds Show under the Pakistan Aviculturists Guild was aimed at promoting entrepreneurship among the youth. Being a holiday, a large number of families came to see the bird show. Children were excited to see the colourful birds as well as the imposing owls. The hall echoed with the chirping of the birds.

Pakistan Aviculturist Guild President Umar Dilshad and Media Head Haroon said that they have invited judges from Mexico and Portugal. They said the aim of this show was to promote entrepreneurship among the young generation as well as to create awareness about bird care.

Women running home-based bird business said it provided their households extra income and helped in financial stability.

At the end of the ceremony, the owners of the best birds were awarded with shields and other prizes.
